Atlantic city suspect arrested for fatal stabbing of neighbor

An Atlantic City man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his 68-year-old neighbor on Sunday at Inlet Towers, police said.

32-year-old robert Fontaine reportedly attacked his longtime neighbor Thomas Hill at his home located on the 200 block of New Hampshire Avenue.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, deputies responded to an emergency call at 1:15 p.m. reporting an assault in a 12th-floor hallway.

When they arrived, they discovered Hill in a stairwell unconsiously and bleeding from stab wounds he sustained.

He was transported to the hospital where he died later in the day.

The suspect who made a failled attempt to escape, was taken to the Atlantic County Jail. He faces charges of murder and a weapons offense.
