Arizona authorities are suspecting foul play in the mysterious deaths of two young girls who went missing earlier this month after leaving a local group home.

The dog walker who found Sitlalli Avelar and Kamryn Meyers' bodies Saturday told detectives he initially thought one of the two bodies was a mannequin in water.

Avelar and Meyers, aged 17 and 15, were last seen alive leaving their group home on Jan. 6. Staff there notified Police the following day when they did not return adding that they couldn't stop them from leaving.

“We don't wait on a medical examiner's report to kind of guide us in a direction. Our investigators have been going nonstop at this since it happened.”
