Lyft driver stabbed to death in suburban Phoenix

According to police, a Lyft rider in suburban Phoenix fatally stabbed his pregnant driver several times Sunday morning, killing the victim and her unborn child before robbing her car.

20-year-old Fabian Durazo was arrested near the California line after driving the victim's vehicle 150 miles.

On early Sunday, Kristina Howato, 39, who was in her third trimester of pregnancy received a pickup request in west Tempe at about 1 a.m, officials said.

The suspect stabbed the pregnant woman many times inside the 2005 Mercury SUV and continued the attack outside it. Howato suffered stab injuries, she was prounonced dead with her unborn child at the hospital.

Police denied any relationship between Durazo and the victim.
