An Alabama inmate has died this weekend inside St. Clair Correctional Facility in Springville, after being stabbed to death by another inmate.
authorities said a fight between two inmates was reported around 3 p.m. Saturday inside a prison housing area.
24-year-old Terrance Andrews was found unresponsive with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the prison’s infirmary where he was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m.
The victim, Andrews, was serving a 25-year sentence for a 2013 first-degree robbery in Mobile County.
Officials identified the suspect in the slaying, as Inmate Cedric Leshawn Davis, 35, who is currently serving time for a 2006 murder conviction in Baldwin County.
The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the death and a murder charge against Davis is pending.
