5years ago

last week, a man was arrested after a bus driver was sprayed with chemicals in the Syrian hills.

On Thursday, December 27, 2018, at approximately 10:35 pm, a 50-year-old man attempted to board an STA bus after stopping between Flinders and Crown Prince Surrey Hills.

The driver told the police that the man had started to offend the driver, before he apparently sprayed him with chemicals in his face, which in his opinion is a mouth spray.

The passengers claim the triple zero (000) and the man left the scene.

The driver, a 41-year-old Hillsdale man, was treated at the scene by paramedics from the NSW ambulance after he began having trouble breathing, but he did not need additional treatment.

The assailant was taken to the Newtown Police Station where he was charged with assault. A conditional bond was awarded to the Downing Center District Court on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
