Virginia woman charged of animal cruelty after shooting puppies and discarding remains

The Virginia woman has been arrested after she had been accused of the deadly shooting of six puppies and tossing away their bodies over an embankmen.

According to news reports, the Augusta County Sheriff's office charged Betty G.Hemp, 39-year-old, of Middlebrook with six misdemeanor charges of illegal dumping and six counts of felony animal cruelty. G.Hemp was arrested Thursday for the killings of the puppies and the discarding of their remains.

She was later freed on $2,500 bond.

The killed puppies were between four to six months old and were found on Dec.22, over an embankment, according to

investigators.The animal cruelty incident remains under police investigation.
