Oregon hotel fires 2 employees for humiliating and harassing black guest

Two DoubleTree Hotel employees were fired after a racist incident that saw them call police for a black hotel guest.

Jermaine Massey was in the hotel's lobby on Dec. 22 taking a call from his mother when he was approached by a security guard, Earl Meyers, questioned then asked to leave without a reason.

Massey said the only factor that his race was the main factor that led to the "humiliating" incident. The manager then called police and Massey was escorted to his room to show them his identification.

The encounter was caught on video. The security guard is heard saying:"Portland police will be here in a minute, to escort you off the property."

The hotel said tweeted Saturday:" We have terminated the employment of the two men involved in the mistreatmentof Mr. Massey."
