As the manhunt of the main suspect accused of the shooting death of the California police officer Cpl. Ronil Singh continues, authorities announced late Friday new arrests in connection with the incident.

The suspects arrested during the last few days were two brothers of the alleged shooter, identified as Gustavo Perez Arriaga, 32, his co-worker, and other acquaintances suspected of helping and abetting him.

Arriaga who remains at large is believed to be a Mexican immigrant who illegally crossed the Arizona border. Investigators said he is somewhere between Modesto and Bakersfield heading toward Mexico.

Arriaga will be charged with homicide in the death of Singh. Police said they also recovered a handgun that may be the weapon used in the Wednesday fatal shooting.
