At least one person was reported dead after a single-engine plane crashed in a residential area in Sioux Falls, South Dakota Tuesday, on Christmas evening.
It was not immediately clear how many passengers were inside the plane or how many residents of the area were directly affected by the crash. The killed person is believed to be an aircraft occupant.
During a 7 p.m. briefing with media outlets, Sioux Falls Emergency Manager said that the investigation is still ongoing, and that there may be more fatalities.
Residents were celebrating Christmas, when the plane crashed in their backyard. Grace Chinn, a neighborhood resident, claimed that the crash was more felt than heard: "It shook our hole house," she said.
