The husband of a Georgia woman who was found dead of shotgun wounds in her home in 2013 has been charged.

After a five-year investigation of the killing of his wife Edith Shiffield, 49, and setting fire in their home to eliminate the crime's traces. Timonthy Larue Sheffield has been charged with murder of his wife who suffered from multiples shotgun injuries including two rounds to her head. They reportedly had been married 29 years when she died.

GBI agent Mark Pro claimed that: "He lived at the residence, and he was near the residence at the time so we can't really exclude him. He was one of the last people to see her alive."

The suspect's attorney J.L. King had previously stated that he hoped the perpetrators of the crime will be brought to justice.
