MS-13 gang involved in a New York young woman slaying

Authorities in New York City say that the murder of a young woman in a bird sanctuary is linked to an MS-13 gang.

The gang members included a 13-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, two 18-year-olds and a 22-year-old, they were arrested in a shared bedroom of a property in Far Rockaway, Queen, where police discovered a gun and 900 rounds of ammunition, and faced charges in the killing of Ian Cruz, 23.

Police said that the victim was shot several times in the head and her body was found in Bayswater Point State Park in Far Rockaway on Dec. 16.

Reports said that the slaying may be connected to the killing of an another 17-year-old teenager from Far Rockaway whose body was found on Long Island's south shore on Dec. 18.
