A Florida father had no other choice but shooting his eldest son dead to stop him from killing his brother as he strangled him with one arm while holding a knife over his head with other hand, according to police.
Joseph Maloney, 30-year-old was fatally shot by his father during an altercation between him and his brother James, 26, after spending his last hours acting irrational. The mother called police previously that same day for help while Joseph attacked the room where she and John Maloney, the father, were hiding with a machete. James tried to calm his brother but the latter attacked him by a large knife. The father then grabbed his revolver and fired at his son.
John Maloney was not arrested, because the use of deadly force was necessary to save his other son according to police.
