Series of storms slam the West Coast, as the Pasific Northwest and California remain under weather warnings

Major storms are slamming the West Coast bringing lots of rainfall and flooding the region.

Monday, waves were as high as 30 feet, with 40-to 50- foot breaks causing coastal flooding and erosion.Winter storm warnings were prompted as well as high-wind alerts and flood-watches. The storms will likely move over the Rockies on Wednesday to redevelop in plains before heading toward the Southeast and East Coast by the weekend.

The possibility for damaging winds and tornadoes is also existing in Florida on Thursday, especially in the central and southern part of the state.

Travelers from Washington to Northern California along I-5 should be warned of potential flooding. And for those traveling along I-90 or I-84 east of Seattle and Portland heavy snow is expected in mountainous roads.
