A father in Greenwood, MO was arrested and charged after he allegedly confessed to police that he had drowned his 6-month-old daughter.
Within minutes, police determined the pond where Jonathon Zicarelli, 28, threw the infant and found her alive, floating face up. She reportedly had grass in her mouth, mud in her eyes and water in her lungs. Police said she seemed shocked, like a "porcelain doll."
The father walked into the Greenwood Police Department's office and confessed that he tried to drown the baby, watched her sink before leaving. He also admitted he had planned to kill her for over than 24 hours because he was "stressed" by the holidays and wanted to make things easier for his wife.
He was charged Monday afternoon with domestic assault. The baby's health is in good condition.
