An Ohio man was arrested following the death of a Connecticut woman he met on a dating app.
26-year-old Brandon Roberts shot 25-year-old Emily Todd of Bethel in the head and then dumped her body on the shore of Bridgeport Harbor.
Emily Todd was looking for love in a dating app, she met the suspect two weeks ago, the lovebirds started dating; a few days later Todd wanted to end the relationship.
police are still puzzled over her reasons to meet up with Roberts when she decided to end the relationship on her own.
Police said that after killing Todd, Roberts stole her car, cell phone, and debit card, which he used to empty her bank account.
Roberts was arrested Friday morning at his father’s home in a Cleveland suburb.he was charged with murder, felony murder, first-degree robbery, using a firearm in the commission of a felony and carrying a pistol without a permit. He is awaiting extradition from Ohio to Bridgeport.
Funeral services for Emily Todd are set for Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church.
