35-year-old fox 2 Detroit meteorologist Jessica Starr died by suicide this week, Her colleagues, as well as her fans, mourned and expressed their condolences by sharing their favorite stories, photos and memories of her.
the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office in Michigan determined the cause of her death by operating an autopsy Thursday.
Starr took her life after openly struggling with dry eye and pain resulting from a Lasik SMILE procedure she received in October, which kept her from returning to work.

Starr's Lasik SMILE complications have not been officially confirmed as the cause for her suicide.
Starr’s death was mourned by members of her newsroom.
“All of us here are in shock and cannot believe such a wonderful, bright and intelligent individual will no longer be with us,” read a post from the Fox 2 Twitter page, which also retweeted a number of Starr’s former co-workers who shared similar messages.
