Former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani said that Trump's campaign finance violation was not a big crime since nobody was hurt or killed.

the president's lawyer that the scandal involving Trump and payments to his alleged mistresses have been blown out of proportion.

“Nobody got killed, nobody got robbed. … This was not a big crime,” Giuliani said. “I think in two weeks they’ll start with parking tickets that haven’t been paid.”

the crime which Giuliani insisted that it was not a big deal landed former Trump Organization attorney Michael Cohen in prison for 36 months for arranging payments to adult-film star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal in order to keep them quiet about affairs they said they had with Trump.

Cohen, said in his first interview since the sentencing, that Trump had directed him to make the payments because he was concerned that news of the affairs would hurt him in the election.

Trump insisted that he is innocent of any crimes because he never directed Cohen to make the payments.
