A teenage suspect is dead after a shooting was reported at a middle school in Richmond, Ind. Thursday morning, Indiana State Police said.
Law enforcement prevented a possible mass shooting at Dennis Intermediate School after receiving a tip that a teen was going to shoot up the school.
Police exchanged gunfire with the teenager at Dennis Intermediate School before the suspect killed himself.
a 911 call was made about 8.21am and Richmond police had the school locked down before the suspect arrived.
The suspect apparently ran into the building after an incident that began away from the school grounds just in time to meet up with Law enforcement.
All Richmond Community Schools were placed on lockdown. The school district said Dennis students were being transported to Richmond High School and parents must come to Civic Hall to pick them up.
nobody was injured during the incident.
