Rapper Lexii Alijai’s cause of death determined

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has announced the cause of death of rapper Lexii Alijai who passed away earlier this month.

The young artist had accidentally died after ingesting a lethal mix of alcohol and drugs on Jan. 1 at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel at around 10:36 a.m. She was 21.

“This individual died due to mixed fentanyl and ethanol toxicity,” the medical examiner’s office said.

Several artists and stars paid tribute to Alijai on social media: “I keep typing and backspacing you knew what you meant to me everyone knew what you meant you were so special,” Kehlani who featured the decedent in her song “Jealous” tweeted.

Alexis Alijai Lynch, who is the granddaughter of singer Roger Troutman, gained popularity for her singles “Growing Pains,” “Jealous” and “You Should Be Here.”
