A Florida boy is being prosecuted after he allegedly stabbed his sister inside their family home in Ocala, Florida.
Prosecutors said that the 9-year-old boy is facing attempted murder charges after the Monday afternoon stabbing of his 5-year-old sister as they played inside his room. The mother of the siblings left them for a moment to check the mail when the boy grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked his younger sister.
The boy told investigators he had been thinking of killing his sister two days earlier so that he would be able to play outside. He reportedly shouted “die, die” as he repeatedly stabbed her.
The victim is expected to recover after receiving treatment at the Gainesville hospital while her brother has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
