Fresno news, California news.

A California worker has succumbed to her injuries Friday after getting caught in a raisin processing machine she was cleaning while at work.

33-year-old Yaneth Lopez Valladares was at her job on South Indianola Ave. at around 11 a.m. removing debris from the equipment when a part of her clothing got caught by the machine and she was pulled into it.

Fresno County Sheriff’s officers immediately responded to a call reporting an “industrial accident” witnessed by two fellow employees who shut off the equipment to save Valladares’ life but to no avail as she sustained severe injuries.

The victim has reportedly been working at the company for the last two years. The incident is being investigated by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety.
