5-hour standoff with police ends with suspect suicide

Investigators announced Tuesday that a man accused of shooting three Texas officers apparently killed himself after a standoff that lasted over five hours.

According to the Chief Deputy Edison Toquica, Daniel Trevino barricaded himself inside a home for hours before exchanging gunfire with officers, he fires three times but they were able to establish multiples lines of communication with him, he died from a "self-inflicted" gunshot wound to the head.

"We work hard every day to be sure that these type of situation end in a peaceful manner, today was an exeption to that" Toquica said at a news conference.

Two attorney General's officers and one deputy were injured during the shootout.
