Father, stepmother pleaded guilty to murdering girl, 5, at apartment and tossing body in storage unit

A Nevada couple indicted with the killing of a 5-year-old girl whose lifeless body was found in a storage unit in Sacramento in 2018 has pleaded guilty.

Both Tyler Jermaine Anderson and his wife, Averyauna Cheyenne Anderson, both 25-year-old, are expected to learn their fates on April 21. They were arrested on May 15, 2018, after police found the body of Cali Anderson in the storage unit.

According to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office, the toddler died by neglect and malnourishment in the Andersons’ apartment almost 15 days before her remains were found.

Averyauna Anderson who is Cali’s stepmother has entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder while Tyler Anderson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and destruction of evidence.
