The trial of a Michigan father has begun on Wednesday and a chilling 911 call has been revealed to jurors in which, the father was heard describing his dead daughter as a “doornail.”
“I’m at home and one of my children is dead,” Seth Welch told the dispatcher who wondered how he was that collected. “You know. It’s just another day, right? It is what it is,” he replied.
10-month-old Mary Welch was found dead in her moldy crib where she spent 19 hours alone while in her father’s care. Welch waited two hours to report his daughter’s death as he surfed on the Internet and called parents and people selling a goat for his hobby farm.
The girl’s cause of death was ruled as dehydration and malnutrition.
