Pontiac news, Illinois news.

A 53-year-old Illinois man has entered a not guilty plea Thursday in the shooting death of his estranged wife, their 27-year-old son and a neighbor amid a heated dispute on Christmas Day.

Clifford Brewer, who is a suspended state corrections officer, is facing six counts of first-degree murder and is being held in prison in lieu of $500,000 bail in connection with the killings of his 48-year-old wife, Shirley, their adult son and Norman Walker, 51. They died from serious bullet wounds to their heads in Brewer’s house. The gun was found next to Shirley’s corpse.

The motive behind the slayings has yet to be determined.

In a statement, Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak said: “We’re confident in the charges and we’re confident in our case.”
