Philadelphia police said that the body of a 43-year-old man has been found wrapped in a blanket inside the trunk of a burning vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said that the body was discovered in South Philadelphia inside a Jeep filled with smoke on the 2700 block of South 3rd Street. Investigators canvassed the area where the car had been found after the suspects tried unsuccessfully to set it on fire. A drive-thru bank teller called police after noticing smoke coming out of the car that has not been there for long.
"I came from the Dollar Store and when I came here, went to the bank and I see all this and I ask my wife what is going on, and my wife says maybe somebody died and you know, I don't know what's going on," a witness said.
