Reports said that one of the suspects accused of killing a 15-year-old boy in the Bronx area of New York in June has been attacked in jail.

18 year-old, Manuel Rivera was hit on the face by Tyreek Johnson, 21-year-old, a suspected member of the infamous Bloods gang at the Robert N. Davoren Center on Rikers Island on December 11.

The attacker is set to be re-arrested and charged in connection with the crime that was recorded on surveillance video.

Joe Russo, the Union president who represented top jail supervisors claimed: "There are several jails in the department, and Davoren is one of them in which the cell security locking devices are compromised."

Manuel Rivera was one of 15 people accused of a machete attack after dragging the victim Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz outside a bodega.
