Westcliffe news, Colorado news.

Colorado authorities are looking for two inmates who remain on the run after hitting a deputy and locking her up in a cell, the Custer County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Monday.

39-year-old Jerry Williams and Bryan Webb, 30, have reportedly escaped the Westcliffe's jail after beating the deputy who was conducting rounds, throwing her in a cell then locking the doors. They also stole the keys to a 2017 Toyota Sienna minivan that belonged to the Rotary Club.

The unidentified deputy kicked at the door and was released by other officers: "She got an elbow in the face, but she's fine," Undersheriff Chris Barr said.

Williams is suspected of attempted murder while Webb is serving time for drug-related and assault charges.
