A 38-year-old Kentucky woman was taken into custody after she commanded her dog to attack a man she was beating last Friday morning, according to officials.
Melissa Wolke is facing several charges including murder and alcohol intoxication following the death of 55-year-old Donald Abner who lost his life after being mauled to death by Wolke's pit bull.
Her neighbor called police to report that the woman was assaulting a man in the backyard of her house located on Pug Lane on U.S. 25 before she ordered her dog to attack him, according to an arrest citation.
During a press conference, Kentucky State Police Trooper Scottie Pennington said: "The way I look at it, she used her animal, a pit bull, as a weapon to help her in this altercation."
