Jackson police said on Monday that a Mississippi man has confessed to the shooting of two children near a hospital late last November.
According to report, Alcantera Garner, 20, who surrenderedMonday evening, is accused of shooting a 1-year-old in the leg and a 3-year-old in the torso while they were sitting in the back seat of their mother's car when the suspect pulled up alongside them and opened fire.
The mother took them off the car and ran them into the emergency room, they have since been released.
Garner has admitted the shooting but did not immediately tell the investigators about the motive of his crime, he has been charged with one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle and three counts of aggravated assault, police said.
