Flint teen faces murder charges in the killing of a 7-year-old girl

Flint teenager accused of fatally shooting a 7-year-old girl inside her home, now faces 22 counts including: first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, discharging a gun at a building and using a firearm during a felony.

Jamil Griggs, 17, had fatally shot Zaniyah Burns while she was getting ready to take her bath, according to her grandmother, who was near the home. Sonia Long recalled rushing inside after hearing the gunfire, and found the girl laying in the bedroom on floor.

A friend of the suspect said that he sent out a Facebook post, claiming that he shot at house. The Judge said Griggs told the friend that the shooting was an accident and that he didn't mean to shoot a little girl.
