New York City news, New York news.

An Astoria woman has pleaded guilty to the shooting death of her boyfriend amid a jealousy argument, authorities said.

Dawn McIntosh, 50, admitted Wednesday killing her 43-year-old boyfriend Shron McWhorter in August 2015 outside a home on 12th Street in Astoria during a heated argument.

According to prosecutors, McIntosh shot her victim twice in the chest before calling her 21-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter to help her remove his body.

"The defendant admitted to a particularly heinous crime in which she fatally shot her boyfriend and then tampered with evidence by, among other things, setting the deceased's body on fire," DA John Ryan said.

McIntosh set McWhorter's body on fire. Investigators linked her to his murder after finding one of her fake fingernails on the remains.
