Orlando news, Florida news.

A Florida nursing home employee was arrested after she stole two gold rings off the fingers of an elderly patient and pawned them that same day.

30-year-old Jakovee Ladrel Gray was booked into the Orange County Jail facing felony charges of grand theft and exploitation of the elderly.

The 88-year-old victim emerged from her room at Quality Health Care on Nov. 17 yelling that an employee had stolen her rings. She told the staff that the employee took her food tray and offered to clean her rings. When she agreed, she slid the golden rings off her fingers and vanished.

Police searched Gray who was recognized by the patient but nothing was found on her. Days later, investigators searched a pawn database and discovered that Gray had pawned two rings at a Haines shop that same day.
