Sunday night's deadly shooting took the life of one person and left two injured victims.
the shooting occurred near the Smithfield public housing complex where Birmingham’s West Precinct officers responded shortly before 9 p.m. to the 3300 blocks of Avenue H.
officers went to that location after the city’s gunfire detection system - ShotSpotter - alerted them to shots fired.
at the scene of the shooting, a bloodied man was already dead inside a vehicle .two other victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
detectives and crime scene investigators are still collecting evidence at the location. No arrests have been made.
