The suspect pointed a gun at the two 16-year-old girls as they made their way to a bus stop.
He took one of their backpacks, but the girls got a perfect description of the vehicle and brought this information to his mother.
The mother then went around the area and spotted the suspect's van. She took a picture of it and called the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Transtar cameras captured the suspect as he was crossing the north side.
Deputies chased him across the US-59 all the way north to Hardy Toll Road.
Deputies filed several spiked strips, but the suspect managed to get around most of them.
Finally, the van stopped and he was arrested.
