An Alabama boy has passed away after he got caught in a crossfire between two women on Saturday, police said.

Tanarius "TJ" Moore was pronounced dead at a hospital after being shot at around 2:30 p.m. during a gunfight. It was not immediately clear how the boy ended in the middle of the fire exchange.

The two women are believed to be from the same family. One of them was arrested on Saturday.

Tobios Darden, the boy's football coach, said on Facebook that "TJ" had a bright future and had been named to the All-Star team: "TJ was loved by all of the coaches and his teammates. He was the heart and soul of our defense, and we will honor him every time we take the field. I'm proud to say I had the honor to coach him."
