An employee of Taco Bell, Texas, reportedly had a client running for his safety - at the border - after threatening him with an 18-inch machete in a drive-thru lane.

Samuel Batiste Hemmit, 21, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a man told Austin's police officers that he had thrown the gun into his truck while he was ordering Sunday food, reported the American American-Statesman.

Hemmit was waiting for the customer at the cashier's window while holding a black machete and spitting explosives, said the customer.

The confrontation continued to escalate until Hemmit rushed to the customer's truck, hitting his driver's side mirror twice. Hemmit then hid the machete in a dumpster after the man's departure, according to surveillance footage.

Hemmit later admitted to the investigators that he had brandished the machete and swung it to the man's truck.

Hemmit had seized the machete from a break room just before the attack, KVUE reported.

He was jailed Monday at the Travis County Correctional Complex with a $ 15,000 bail, according to the records.
