A drunk driver crashes into a vehicle carrying a family of four and killed a Florida sheriff’s bailiff who was among the passengers.

Kim Johnston, 46, was arrested Sunday and charged with two counts of driving under the influence with serious bodily injury to another person.

the crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. Sunday when intoxicated Johnston was driving on Interstate 95 in St. Johns County when she collided with a vehicle carrying Jacksonville sheriff’s bailiff Cathy Adams, 43, her husband, police officer William Adams, 50, and their two children, ages 14 and 16.

the crash was so severe that the vehicle was overturned and it's passengers were thrown away.

The family was reportedly driving home from a state championship football game when the fatal crash occurred.

Johnston is expected to appear in court Monday and would be charged for the death of the passenger along with driving under the influence charge.
