A California mother is accused of drowning her 10-month-old twin sons in the bathtub of a motel, according to news outlets.

Heather Langdon, 37, is charged in connection with the deaths of her sons, Mason and Maddox Murguia.

Investigators said Langdon allegedly drowned the babies in the motel where she was staying for free after being escorted from a women's shelter on Thursday. She was asked to leave after an unspecified disturbance.

A witness claims she saw Langdon the morning the boys died yelling " I almost drowned them" and contacted police.

Police have yet to investigate what was the possible motive and what preceded the killings. The suspect is held without bail, and it is still unclear if she entered her pleas before a judge.
