Former fiancé accused in the murder of newly pinned Navy Chief

Authorities arrested a man suspected of killing a Navy Chief Petty officer in September as her death was ruled a homicide on Friday.

Andrea Washington, 37, was found dead in her Florida home nearly three months ago. Police arrested and charged 36-year-old Danny Ray Beard with her killing.

Investigators believed her death "was not from natural causes", and didn't release a cause of death in September.

Washington had been granted a protective order about two weeks before her death upon a domestic violence at her home. The suspect had reportedly pushed her and pulled a gun on her while arguing over household bills. The victim also filed a police report against Beard, and was expected to appear in court just hours after her death.

The mother of three was newly pinned as Navy CPO.
