A Kansas City man has been arrested in connection to the death of a truck driver who was trying to stop him as he stole his truck.
20-year-old Skylar Waddell was charged with involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident following the Wednesday death of 48-year-old Steven Norris.
According to the victim's wife, Norris had left his truck on the shoulder of the Interstate 435 because of a flat tire. Waddell tried to drive the truck and Norris clung to the bed rail to stop him. Waddell swerved into the median and struck the cable barrier before crashing and causing Norris to fall.
The suspect then tried to flee the scene on foot but was arrested shortly afterward.
