Ex-fiance of Navy chief petty officer was arrested and charged with the murder.

The ex-fiance of a Navy Chief Petty Officer who was found murdered in her Jacksonville home was arrested and charged with murder Friday.

37-year-old Navy Chief Petty Officer Andrea Washington, in Florida, was found dead on Monday the same day she was to appear at a court hearing for an order of protection she sought against a man she claimed kicked her in the stomach and pulled a gun on her.

Washington was found dead inside her home on Sept. 17, hours before a hearing was scheduled on a proactive order against her boyfriend. Washington was set to deploy the following Wednesday aboard the USS Hue City.

Danny Ray Beard, 36, was engaged to Andrea Washington, 37, who was found dead inside her Northside home on Sept. 17.

Beard appeared in court to defend the domestic violence injunction against him. A court dismissed the temporary restraining order because Washington did not attend because she was already dead.

the cause of her death was not immediately released in September, investigators had said her death "was not from natural causes.” No suspects were initially named.

Washington, the mother of three was newly “pinned” as a Navy CPO.she could not enjoy her accomplishment.
