A fatal shooting that unfolded at a Philadelphia home on Monday has cost the life of an 11-year-old boy as his older brother remains in police custody.

The incident occurred just before noon in the dining room of the boy's West Philadelphia home. They have been alone at the time of the incident.

The victim was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital where he died about half an hour thereafter.

The boy's 19-year-old brother has reportedly asked for help from neighbors before he was arrested two blocks away from the scene.
