Two teen inmates were taken back into custody after escaping from the Echo Glen Juvenile Detention in Snoqualmie.
a 14-years-old inmate convicted of a gang-related murder and felony gun possession, and an Another 16-year-old was in for robbery were in the gym at the detention center when they took off running into the woods through an unfenced area.
Detention officials were looking for the teens for about 30 minutes when they finally called deputies to assist. A security guard went into the woods to find the teenagers only with a flashlight.
the security guard caught up with them and was able to detain them both.
the detention center will be reviewing its security protocols and figuring out what needs to be done differently after the incident.
