Los Angeles news, California news.

A California man and his daughter were booked in connection with the kidnapping of a 40-year-old woman who was found dumped without food or water in the desert amid robbery.

After a harrowing weeklong kidnapping, police arrested Stanley Alfred Lawton, 54, and his 22-year-old daughter, Shaniya Nicole Poche-Lawton after they robbed, abused and left the unidentified victim for dead and discarded her off a highway near Edwards Air Force Base on Oct. 30 before military personnel rescued her last Wednesday morning, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's Capt. Eduardo Hernandez.

It is believed that the victim was abducted in North Las Vegas: "It's gunpoint, it's by force the victim is then transported across state lines held in a house inside of a room for at least a week," Hernandez stated.
