A newlywed New York woman has been stabbed to death by her husband moments before he took his own life by hanging himself from a tree, police said.
The husband, identified as 33-year-old Dinhwar Budhidat, sent a text message to his cousin on his way to commit suicide: "He texted me he killed her. He didn't tell me how. Why me? Why'd he have to text me that? He's such a damn coward. Why'd he have to do that to the poor girl?" the cousin said.
Police arrived at the husband's apartment on Albert Rd. near Whitelaw St. in Ozone Park where they found the body of the unidentified wife with several stab wounds. About 1 1/2 miles away, the husband's body was found hanging from a tree in Spring Creek Park.
The couple was wed in July, according to family members.
