A 13-year-old murder suspect who escaped from police officers after a court appearance this week in North Carolina is again in custody, officials said Wednesday.
The boy, identified only as Jericho W. is in the custody of the US Marshals, said Matthew Jenkins, spokesman for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. The teenager was to be transferred Wednesday night to a juvenile facility.
Jericho escaped Tuesday in a building of the Ministry of Social Services where hearings before a juvenile court are organized.
He was in court to face two counts of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, the sheriff's office said.
The details of how the boy escaped were not immediately published. He appeared in a juvenile court Tuesday morning, the public security department said.
