A double murder suspect who is only 13-year-old has escaped custody while making a court appearance on Tuesday.
North Carolina authorities have identified the suspect as Jericho W. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder on Oct. 17 in connection with the deaths of two brothers, Frank Thomas, 34, and Adam Thomas, 33.
The teen had been in the Cumberland Juvenile Detention Center's custody since his arrest and was taken to the Robeson County Court on Tuesday morning for an appearance.
According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, the boy escaped at around 12:10 p.m. and was wearing leg restraints. He was last seen barefoot and wearing a white T-shirt and beige pants. He has a history of "unpredictable behavior."
