inmate escaped jail only to get shot to death by a South Carolina woman.

An inmate and his partner escaped jail after knocking down two security guards, one of the inmates got shot to death by a woman after they have broken into her house.

30-years-old Bruce McLaughlin Jr. had been in and out of the county jail roughly a dozen times on charges ranging from drug possession to assaulting a police officer to shoplifting, He was currently awaiting trial on first-degree burglary and grand larceny charges.

his partner Timothy Dill, also an inmate charged with a criminal sexual conduct with a minor charge.

the two of them allegedly beat up two guards, McLaughlin and Dill stole the guards’ keys and locked them in a room.

other inmates have reportedly tried to help the two guards during the attack.

after breathing the air of freedom, McLaughlin entered the house of a woman around 3 a.m. through her back door, grabbed a sharpening knife tool and headed to her bedroom.

the woman who was at that time alone at her house shot the intruder in the head, sending him to the other world immediately as she had undergone concealed weapons training.

a Pickens County sheriff applauded the woman's movement, "This was a big guy. If she hadn't had a weapon there's no telling what would have happened," the sheriff said. "I gave her a big hug. I told her how proud I was of her."

he added that the incident was “a shining example” of why owning and knowing how to properly use a gun is important.

dill was taken back into custody adding escape along with two counts of kidnapping to his list of charges.

the two guards suffered minor bruises and are doing well.
