Chicago authorities are investigating a shooting that took the lives of four people and left one person hospitalized in critical condition.
The shooting occurred on Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on the city's Northwest Side. According to Deputy Superintendent Anthony Riccio, a 67-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the fatal incident.
Investigators said that the man, who had a history of disputes with neighbors, first targeted three men and a woman inside an apartment as they ate dinner and shot them, before moving to another unit where he shot a fifth woman. The victims' identities have not been immediately disclosed.
Riccio said that "what set the suspect off" is still being investigated while the city's mayor called the incident "devastating."
